Free Blog or Printable Shop? Here's What Each One Is For
We hear this question a lot: "Is this free, or is it in the shop?" Fair question — we have two different sections on our site, and they're built to do two different jobs. Here's the simple breakdown.
The Resource Blog: free, always, and built to help you understand
Our MCC Resource Blog is a growing library of parent-friendly guides on sensory needs, autism, ADHD, fine motor skills, IEPs, and neurodiversity-affirming care — written by a pediatric occupational therapist serving Ashtabula County. This is where you go when you're trying to understand the why behind something your child is experiencing, or when you need a starting point before deciding what kind of support you need.
A few posts to start with:
Sensory Processing vs. Self-Regulation (Strategies Included)
IEP Questions Every Parent Should Ask: A Clear Guide for Ohio Families
These posts are free and will stay free. No catch — just information we believe every family should have access to, whether or not you ever become a client.
The Shop: handmade printable tools, built to help you act today
Our Downloads shop is different. Every printable there — the Sensory Regulation Quick-Reference Card, the Morning & Evening Routine Chart Bundle, and the individual Evening and Morning Routine Charts — is designed in-house, by hand, using real strategies pulled directly from clinical practice. These aren't templates or freebies; they're finished tools meant to save you the time of building your own visual supports from scratch, ready to print the moment you need them.
A simple way to think about it:
The blog teaches the concept. The shop hands you the tool already made.
If you're trying to understand why mornings are hard, start with the blog. If you already know you need a visual chart on your fridge by tomorrow morning, the shop has it ready to go.
A note on how these are made
Everything in the shop is designed by hand, specifically for MCC Therapies — not resold from a template library or mass-produced. Because of that, each printable is licensed for personal, single-household use: print and use it freely at home, but please don't share, resell, or redistribute the files. It's a small ask, and it's what allows us to keep making new tools while keeping the blog free for everyone.
And yes — free printables are coming too
The shop won't be the only place to find printable tools. From time to time, we'll release smaller free printables through the blog and our email list — so if you'd rather wait for a freebie than purchase, keep an eye on the Resource Blog or sign up below to get notified first.
